Data and cloud are ‘needle and thread’. It is virtually impossible to process a database (DB) of several tens of terabytes (TB) with a single computer. This is the reason for managing the database in a cloud that can be used by borrowing the large storage space and computing power of high-performance computers.
Cloud refers to a service that is outsourced to the outside without having a server and storage device in the company. When big data is managed in the cloud, it is easy to analyze and utilize it. There is no need to invest excessively in facilities for fear of unexpected traffic congestion.
Cloud services are divided into public (open) cloud and private (closed) cloud according to the location where data is stored. If it is stored in the data center of a cloud company, it can be viewed as a public cloud, or as a private cloud if stored in an independent server in the company or data center.
